Since the beginning of this process we have been lied to and manipulated. We did not get the house were supposed to get and every time we brought up issues, it became very clear that no one even read the contract to build the home we contracted.

My Husband had to go to the home site twice a week to make sure they changed and corrected things that we found wrong the entire time of the building process. When we went over the contract we were also told that some things were standard only to find out later that they was not true. We believed and trusted what we were being told was true. We feel totally deceived and cheated!!

Now 7 months later and several emails later even more issues.

We again were told that we had a walk through every 6 months to discuss fix any issue that come up. It took 5 emails to get someone to respond to us this time. We have three cracked tiles in the basement, which we were told they will not fix. This is unbelievable that I have a house that is 7 months old and now looks like it's at least 5 years old.

I have chips in the door to the office that looks like it was wet and then chipping from the damage. I was told this was my fault??!! The flooring they put in our house is horrible to say the least. The carpet already needs to be replaced!

We paid extra to get the flooring we like and it is falling apart!!! Even our hard wood floor (upgraded) is not holding up. There are only 2 of us living in this house! If I drop anything it ruins the floor.

What kind of product are they selling??

The home is not the only issue. Richmond sent someone to my house last night who was rude, condescending and telling us things that were totally wrong! He proceeded to tell me what I bought and he really did not have the correct information. I asked to him leave due to the way he was treating me and the manner in which he was talking to me and my husband.

Is this the way you treat your customers??

I think it's time we got together as homeowners to alert everyone of the poor workmanship and poor communication that Richmond has shown so many of us. I know of several others who have bought home in this community and others who have had nothing but issues.

Oh and by the way this is not the first time I have purchased a new build (not Richmond). My first one was a breeze with very little issues so I know it's not the nature of the beast.

We purchased a home from Richmond American. It has been the most horrible experience of my life.

Not only did they lie to us when we put a contract on this house, but they built the wrong house. During the contract signing we were told that we would have 10 ft ceilings and rounded corners. We were told the rounded corners were standard. We we got 9 ft.

ceiling and 8ft doors (not fixed) We were to get an office they did a dinning room (fixed, after we caught the mistake). We wanted brushed Nickel in the bathroom they gave us chrome (fixed, after we caught the mistake). The bathroom shower tile was so poorly done, we had them re-due it 3 times. Every week we found some thing else that was wrong with the house.

We started with one sales person then got another. We started with one job super and then another finished. Each time information was not relayed and more mistakes happened.

Now 7 months later we have a walk through to discuss the issues on the house.

(more floor tiles cracked, wood floor cracking, wall molding cracking.) All normal for the settling of the house but now they wont fix any of it. We were told they would.

if not why do the walk through?? Richmond has been unresponsive and difficult to work with.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $350.

Preferred solution: Repair the issues.

Richmond American Homes Cons: Being lied to every step of the way, Poor quality, Lack of communication.
